msiexec /i file pathname /qn is not working

Which is why I gave you an older style that is somewhat equivalent to your /qn.  Depending on the installer and the application, sometimes you have to switch up your command line parameters.  I have an application that does something very similar to yours, except that it downloads updates from WSUS / SCCM and for certain update content, I have to use varying command line parameters.  It would be nice if they all versions of Windows Installer and installation files would support exactly the same command line parameters, but unfortunately that is just not the case.  That is why I provided you with the link to the various command lines that might suit your needs.

It would be greatly appreciated if you would mark any helpful entries as helpful and if the entry answers your question, please mark it with the Answer link.
